Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates your skin and gets rid of dirt and vellus hair, better known as “peach fuzz”.
It’s different from dermabrasion, where an aesthetician or doctor uses a high-speed, rotating brush to exfoliate the skin. With dermaplaning, they use a scalpel or a tool called a dermatome.
The doctor or aesthetician moves the dermatome, which looks like an electric razor, back and forth to scrape off the top layer of dead skin.
The process of dermaplaning removes dead skin cells, which is make up the top layer of the skin. While results do vary, most patients are left with fresh, bright, rejuvenated skin once these dead cells are gone.
This treatment not only makes your face look younger but can minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. By reducing the total amount of dirt and oil in your pores, it can also make your pores look smaller. It helps treat hyperpigmentation and improve your overall skin health.
