Botox
Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines.
It’s not permanent – it usually lasts for around 3 or 4 months.
Afterwards you will not see a change straight away. It takes about 2 or 3 days to start working, and 2 to 3 weeks to see the full effect.
Do not massage or rub your face for 3 days. Also, avoid vigorous exercise, sunbathing (including using sunbeds), and the sauna for 2 days. Your practitioner should be able to give you more advice about what you should and should not do.
The effects usually last for about 3 or 4 months. If you have Botox injections again, you should wait at least 3 months. It might stop working if you have it too often.
We use different brands of botulinum toxin
Botox
The active ingredient in Botox injections is botulinum toxin type A, which will temporarily relax the overactive facial muscles to mitigate the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines.
The FDA has approved Botox injections for the cosmetic reduction of frown lines and crow’s feet. Experienced providers can also use it effectively in other facial areas to reduce the effects of facial aging.
Dysport
Dysport injections work in a similar way as Botox, but can produce somewhat faster results and cover a larger surface area to mitigate the facial signs of aging. Dynamic wrinkles such as the vertical lines between the brows and horizontal lines on the forehead can be smoothened with Dysport.
Xeomin
Xeomin injections perform a similar role as Botox and Dysport to diminish the effect of dynamic facial wrinkles, such as frown lines, marionette lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and bunny lines. Xeomin can also be used for lip flip, apart from some medical applications such as hyperhidrosis.
